Today we saw a potential rental in the south east part of Sydney called Maroubra. It was so close to the eastern cost, that we decided to check all the eastern beaches out by doing the Eastern Coastal Walk. It was a beautiful 88 and sunny out and the sea breezes were cooling. We saw the beaches of Maroubra, Coogee, Gordon’s Bay, Clovelly, Bronte, Tamarama, and Bondi. We had lunch at Coogee and once we got back to Bondi, took a bus to the train station. I got to ride my first Sydney train on the way to get our first piece of mail from out PO Box. We set it up that we get a text when we get mail so we don’t have to be constantly checking it. Our PO Box is in Sydney central since we didn’t really know where we would be living, so it is a bit far to get to from the northern part of town we are in.
While we were out and about we got a call from the townhouse we saw last night that they like us and want us to stay there. 🙂 YAY!! It is a three bedroom place where we would be renting a room with an en suite and they like cats. 🙂 It is in the mid-northern part of Sydney close to town and bus stops for us to go off to interviews. We can stay there weekly for as long as we need. 🙂 We are so relieved and happy to have somewhere to go after our Airb&b and the two women that live there seem really nice. It has been hard to find something temporary that accepts pets. Next step jobs, then more permanent housing close to said jobs (and a beach). Sad news today is that we both got a bit sunburn; even after reapplying, I think we sweat it off.
Our new roommates did tell us about a car rental service in Australia called Go Get. Basically there are cars parked all over the city and if you have a Go Get account you can rent it (“hire it” as it is called here) for a day or few hours or whatever you need and just pick it up and drop it off in your neighborhood. I think we are going to get one to move our suitcases to our new place. The car in our area is called Jarvis the Corolla. Too cute! It is way cheaper and easier than a taxi and way less hassle than hauling our stuff (and cats) on a bus.
I am hoping to call the clinics I applied to tomorrow and see if I can set up interviews. One does Stem Cell Therapy which would be cool to see and help with. For now, all the sun has made me sleepy. Enjoy the pictures and good night!
PS-We turned comments on for our posts so feel free to write us a note or ask any questions. 🙂
