We had another fun week full of plans.  Jax was off house sitting, so we held down the fort.  Monday Brandon made tacos and then we taught Heidi how to play Left for Dead on Steam.  She did really well for never playing computer video games before.  Using the keyboard to move around is hard to get used to.  We had a blast.  Tuesday was the Fourth of July, something they do not celebrate here, obviously, but there were a few parties at bars.  We decided to not go anywhere crazy with a cover, so went to SoCal, a southern California themed restaurant down the street from us. They had tacos and BBQ and US themed cocktails.  They were also having a hot dog eating contest, but we never saw it since they kept pushing the time of it back.  Hearing about the contest then made me want hot dogs, but they were not selling them, just for the contest.  Thursday night I had plans to meet up with girls from work, but it fell through.  Instead I met up with one of my coworkers to watch the whales at the cliffs of Bondi.  There were not as many whales this time as before, but they were much more active, jumping out of the water and splashing their tails.  So cool to see.  We went up higher on the cliff than where Brandon and I were; where there was a dog park.  It was fun to watch all the dogs running around, chasing balls, being crazy.  Made me want a dog again.  Someday. When the sun set, we drove into Bondi to Sushi Train.  Yum!  I successfully navigated the buses to and from the city to Bondi.  I am getting more used to the bus routes and the city itself, so that makes it easier.

Friday was a quiet night in to prep for Brandon and I both working Saturday.  I have been trying to watch as many episodes of Game of Thrones as possible, with not much success.  I thought I had two weeks, but I only have one.  I just finished Season 2!  I am going to have to push to get through the next four seasons in time now.  I am going to give it a go anyways.  See how far I get.   Saturday was work, then I was going to meet up with some girls from my Child free group, but two of them got sick.  The other girl and I ended up meeting up with some of her friends and hanging out in Potts Point.  We had dinner and drinks and it was really fun.  Sunday we went to church and then went into Balmain for lunch and shopping.  It is a suburb is on the lower shore on the west side, on my way to my work.  It is a really nice area and we drove there with the Tesla and wanted to come back and check it out.  Brandon and I bought a rug for our bathroom.  We came home and Jax made us dinner.  A fun week all around.

I did get some bad news from the US this week.  My dad had surgery back in May and it hasn’t gone well for his recovery.  He has been in and out of the hospital with complications and procedures.  It has been a big ordeal and I feel for both him and my mom going through this.  A few times I have been ready to jump on a plane and go to help them out.  He is currently back in the hospital with infections, but is in good spirits and in good hands.  It is really stressing me out being so far away from them when they are going through this.  I am trying to put on a good face and not dwell on it.  I can’t do anything but hope and pray that things will get better and heal.  Please send good thoughts and prayers their way.  Get well soon Dad! You have a garden to harvest and fishing to do yet this summer.

On that note-enjoy our pictures of what we have been up to.
