We have been loving the winter weather this week. Every day has been sunny and warm. Mornings and evenings you still have to have a sweatshirt and light jacket, but during the day, pants and a t shirt are perfect in the sun. I feel like it is spring already; the birds are louder, the days seem longer, and the trees are blooming. I love it!! It means that when we come back from the US, warmer weather will be the norm and summer right around the corner.
This week’s excitement included the cats lying in the sun, me finding what I thing was a baby Huntsman Spider and moving it outside, us catching up on Tiny House Nation while I knit, and me taking the ferry home one night. And that was just through Wed! Thursday, I met Brandon in the city and we went out to Frankie’s Pizza for supper. It was a popular pizza and beer type restaurant and impossible to get in to on the weekend. We split a mushroom and truffle oil pizza. Greasy and yum! Friday night, Brandon made chicken salads as a good bye dinner to Heidi. She was off to Hawaii for two weeks. We leave before she comes back, then she is house sitting, so we won’t see her until like September. Craziness with our busy schedules. Jax was off with her family this weekend who were visiting from out of town. We had the house to ourselves mostly, besides the cats of course.
Today, after church, we took a bus, then the train to Sydney Park in the more southwest part of the city. My coworker had a Birthday picnic for her partner in the park. It was a beautiful and huge park; with dogs running everywhere and people out enjoying the sun. They had a vegan potluck and instruments for a jam fest. Her partner runs a music business and creates instruments from recycled materials. They also brought their slack line for us all to work on our balance. It was a great day and such nice weather. We had a blast. We then took the train and bus home to get our clothes off the line before dark. It was so nice out, they actually dried fully! It has been too chilly for that to happen in a while.
Brandon is nearly done filling out our tax information for our accountant. Our Seattle trip is still a work in progress. My friend Lindsay and her parents will be able to join us for a day while we are there, so that is awesome! In gathering my Seattle info to send to her, I realized I booked the dates of our Airbnb wrong, so that has been a few days of back and forth and switching things around with our host. Thankfully, she is being very accommodating and not charging us any extra for my mistake. I had used our flight details from my phone calendar, not our actual flight which was on WI time/day, not Australian. Now it should be all sorted and I can work on the details. So much to do before we are back in the US! Less than two weeks to do it! Oh boy!!
A shout out to my mom and Lindsay who have Birthdays this week!! Happy Birthday!! Glad your presents made it!!!
