This week was a busy one with gorgeous, sunny weather.  The nights are still cool, but comfortable with a light coat.  Sunday night we cuddled with the cats in our layers and were adorable.  I was off Monday, so I got my chores done, then Heidi and I drove to Balmoral Beach for a late lunch and to enjoy the warm day.  I then took the bus into the city to meet Brandon in Australia Square by his work.  We chatted about his work and expanding business ventures.  He is getting a 3D printer that his work will be using to help with their case design for their device.  We celebrated this good news with fancy cocktails at a fancy outdoor lounge.  We were going to have a fancy dinner also but needed to make it to Lincraft (a craft and home good store) before they closed to look at their sale stuff.  The previous week I had gotten flannel sheets, a cat bed, and a bunch of yarn for scarves at 40% off.  We were looking for a quilt/comforter for our bed for after we move and also a quilt cover.  We found both and also another cat bed.  I found an intermediate book on knitting that I will give a go at later on.  I still haven’t quite made it through my current beginners knitting book.  I am happy making scarves for now.  🙂  Brandon ended up eating at home since I was still full from my late lunch.

Tuesday, I had an early out of work and met up in Glebe with Ash, one of my coworkers who had off.  We wandered around looking for a bar I had spotted while walking from the bus.  After going all they way up and down, we found it.  I enjoyed a cocktail with absinthe in it and she had a cider.  We sat out in their bier garden and enjoyed our drinks and a chat before meeting up with some of our other coworkers.  For supper, we celebrated Tight-ass Tuesday at an Indian restaurant down the street in Glebe.  It was two for one mains!!  We had some wine and a really nice time enjoying delicious Indian food.  I tried a fish curry, butter chicken, beef rogan josh, soft shell crab, with garlic naan.  Kindly, my practice manager drove me home so I wouldn’t have to take the two buses back.

Friday night at work I closed, so Brandon had taco salads for us and Heidi when I got home.  The three of us had a relaxing night watching TV.  I worked the next day and took some pictures of the buildings they are tearing down around the bus stop at Wynyard.  Australia is also in debate about approving same sex marriage, so rainbow flags are all over the city.  (Say yes people!!) When I got home, I wanted to spend time in the sun, but the wind had picked up.  Brandon and I walked to the park nearby, but we got cold and came back pretty quickly.  We then went out to the new American BBQ place down the street for supper called Smoky Sues.  It was yummy.  I hope they do well.  We then watched Ocean’s 11.  Jax was off working and couldn’t join the fun.

Today, Heidi drove us out to Pyrmont to park and then wandered around Darling Harbour.  We were aiming to go to the Brazilian Festival in the park there, but you needed a ticket.  I had seen the event on Facebook and it said it was free.  🙁 We abandoned that plan and at a restaurant with a balcony overlooking Darling Harbour instead.  We then drove around Balmain and explored our dream neighborhood a bit more.  We got gelato as dessert and then headed out south-west to Ikea.  I had never been to an Ikea before and it was very interesting.  Crazy big with food courts, sample houses set up, so much furniture, and everything.  Even cider that I didn’t realize was alcoholic. 🙂 We were looking there for furniture ideas for our new place.  We picked out a bed and a couch we liked and have ideas for so much more we can get there.  By the Ikea there are other outlet stores with furniture, appliances, and more kitchen stuff to check out on another day.  Now we are settling in for the night and going to watch Ocean’s 12.  Supper is a maybe after our big lunch and gelato.  Hope everyone had a nice week.  Until next Sunday!!
