I am making a miniseries on our  website about our pets!  They are so important to us and have been such a source of love and joy throughout the years.  Today, you will meet Sissy!

Sissy was one of our dogs at MATC from a shelter.  It was my last semester of Vet Tech school , in 2008 and I had convinced my parents to let me get a dog.  I picked Sissy since she was potty trained and had a sweet personality.  I was not disappointed.  She was an amazing dog and loved playing ball.  She was leary of some men, but did ok otherwise as far as getting groomed and worked on at the vet.  Copy and paste this link to our wedding video to see Sissy as the star!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIT9oMcsRaU

In October of 2012, while petting Sissy, I felt enlarged lymph nodes all over her body.  I brought her to work and we took aspirates.  The next day, the fax came through, lymphoma.  I enrolled her in a drug trial though UW Madison and she was in remission for a few months.  We did another trial when it came back, but it didn’t go completely away.  We let her go in September of 2012 when she stopped eating and being her happy self.  She was a great girl.  She loved to curl up in the basket of blankets.  She loved sleeping in with me in the morning.  She loved walks and ripping the fur off her tennis balls.  Her nickname was Sissy Pants and there were many songs sung with her name.  I will miss her forever and hope to have other dogs as sweet and well behaved as her again, someday.  This is an ode to Sissy.  Love you Sissy!!

  1. Hi Amy and Brandon,

Pets….are one of the wonderful things in life. We miss every pet that we have had and still hear our cats meowing upstairs even though they are no longer here.

Your Sissy was a good girl. Take care!
