Hi all!  This past week was another busy one for Brandon and my jobs.  I just have two days this week of work and then I am on my way back to the US. 🙂

This week at work, a Good Samaritan brought in a Tawny Frog mouth that was being attacked by other birds.  It was in the clinic for a few days before the wildlife rescue people came and got it.  So cute and amazing! We got to feed it by hand.  I hope it does well in rescue and is re-released soon.  I have finally finished reading the Harry Potter books and we will be watching the last movie tonight. The weather started off nice last week, but has been a cooler and rainy the past few days.  Friday night, Brandon and I celebrated a hard week with wine, then Jax and I watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  I had never seen it before and finally get why it has such a following.    I worked on Saturday and I came home to pizza and a movie and getting last minute things done before I head off.  Sunday was also quiet.  After church, we did some cleaning, I packed, charged all my electronics, and now am posting this. Pretty uneventful.

My trip back to the US starts Wednesday; I leave at 11 am here and get into WI at 11 pm.  It will be a long day, but I have packed entertainment, so it won’t be that bad.  I have done enough traveling to not sweat going it alone.  I just hope I will be able to get some sleep on the flights.  My dad’s surgery is Friday.  We will be in Milwaukee for 3-7 days depending on how he recovers.  This is the first of a few procedures, that will take until mid next year to get sorted.  Please continue your good thoughts and prayers for him and my mom during all of this.  I am coming back to Australia on Thanksgiving.  I hope to organize times to see all our family and friends while I am back, but it is all up in the air at the moment due to how my dad does.  I am not sure when I will be back in the US again; we talked about summer 2018, but we are hashing out other trips too, so it is hard to say.  Anyone who wants to see us is welcome to come our way!  We will hopefully be moving to an apartment with a spare room for guests in December.  Lots going on, but we are staying on top of it all, with the help of the cats.  😉 They make sure we  fit relaxing time in the sun into our schedules.

I do apologize in advance for not bringing anything fun back as gifts.  I don’t want to get people junk they don’t want, or something that will just clutter up their house, so I just didn’t get anything.  Hopefully my presence is all the present you will need this holiday.  It is also just hard to get into the holiday spirit with the warm weather, and no stores really decorating yet.  It does not feel as if it is really November.  I am not looking forward to layering up against the chilly late fall of WI again.  I hope I packed enough warm things! Can’t wait to see you all soon!
