Hello all and happy weekend! I had a fun week, full of activities outside. Brandon and I have also been breaking in our TV with some movie watching.   Here is what this week brought us.

Work has been busy and I opened a few times this week, meaning earlier hours than normal.  It is ok to get up earlier, because I get to enjoy the sun rise over the city; a great start to any day.  And there is always coffee. 🙂 Tuesday night I had my second work out class, which was kinder than the last in the squat/lunges numbers.  I was only mildly sore after.  Since it is Netball training for the rest of them, we ran a few drills and I learned how to properly pass in Netball.  Having zero Netball experience, I am glad for their patience and help in this regard.  I keep wanting to do volleyball things, since that is the only ball sport I ever played, which is very wrong and different from Netball.  The women are going to see a professional Netball game in March and I am going too, since it is so alien and interesting to me.  It has all been fun to learn and a nice group to work out and motivate each other.

Wednesday night, I met up with some women from the Sydney Ladies Group at a Gin Lawn Party.  It was a beautiful night, the drinks were good, and the company nice.  It is fun to meet people from all walks of life and areas of Sydney.  One of the ladies also live in the inner west, who I met up for drinks with last weekend, so she brought me home after.  Brandon and I spent the other nights of the week watching Sci Fi movies and an anime he tried to get me into. I made it through the first episode of Cowboy Be Bop and said no thanks. I worked Saturday and then came home and did some drinking and relaxing on the balcony.  I finally found a Riesling that was fruity enough for me.  There were live bands at the park down the hill, so we listened to that.  On my way home from work Saturday, I saw a plume of smoke in the distance.  Apparently a National Park to the South of Sydney had bad bush fires they were fighting.  I am sure the warm weather and wind is not helping with it.

I am lucky to have had such nice weather for my journeys for work.  It has been so sunny and nice, I have to put sunscreen and flip flops on for my walk to and from the main road where I catch the bus.  Awesome weather.  It has been breezy also to keep our apartment and the outside a nice temperature.  Sunday, we took the bus to the church in Rozelle for mass, then walked into Balmain to a cafe for lunch.  All the junction boxes are painted fun in the Inner West, but the parrots with power tools crack me up the most.  A chocolate shop was displaying chocolate art which was impressive.  We walked home to work some of our lunch off and then I took a power nap.  When I got up we went on our maiden roller blading journey.  Neutral Bay was too hilly to go, but we quickly realized our street was also too hilly.  We had to stop and put shoes back on to get down the hill to the park, otherwise we would have sped right through traffic and into the harbour.  The path by the water, though the parks was not too bad for hills, but there were a few points that I had to hit the grass and had one wipe out.  The paths are also very busy with walkers, runners, bikers, and loose dogs and children darting about.  I don’t think we will be repeating our trek anytime soon.  It was great to get out and do it, but just not the best area for it.  Maybe around Annandale will be better, or across the bridge.  I don’t want to give up on it yet, since we went through the trouble of bringing our roller blades here.

Sunday night we went grocery shopping, then ate some yummy salmon and avocado on bread. 🙂  We also have an Australian theme going for our fridge Scrabble letters at the moment and are trying to use all the letters up.  Hope all of you are having a nice weekend!  Wishing you sunshine and warm weather!
