Hi all and Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends and family.  I hope you had a great time together and the food was delicious.  We have been enjoying the final days of Spring here in lovely Sydney.  Summer begins, officially, December 1st.  It has been a bit windy the past few weeks, but it never deterred us from doing things outside.  Most days have been sunny and nice.  We have had a busy last few weeks, as usual.  We have driven the car a few places around town, but nothing too crazy.  I have mostly used to to drive to work.  I have also been interviewing at two different ER clinics for some part time shifts, so using it for that.  I got the position at one of the places, and am still in the process of the other.  I may just end up with three jobs at the end of this year. 🙂

We have had birthday drinks in the city, a fun drinks and dinner out in Surry Hills, more drinks in the city (with a t-rex and a pineapple glass!), a brunch in the inner west, and I got a new ring.  We have had a lot of fun with friends.  We have been walking in the park by our house.  My ladies’ choir sang in a mass for Remembrance Day, as it was the 100th anniversary of WWI ending.  Brandon even rocked out the snare for some marching songs.  It all came together really nicely.  We had a game’s night at our house to break in our Cards Against Muggles and introduce our Aussie friends to a hint of Thanksgiving with pumpkin pie.  We had to hunt canned pumpkin down, but thankfully everything else for it was easy enough to fine.  It was quite the hit.  Maybe next year, I will host a big Thanksgiving for people. 🙂

I attended another Secret Foodies event with friends from the Sydney Ladies Social.  It was fun and delicious and a great way to spend an afternoon.  I had my first training day at my Emergency clinic and fell right into the paperless computer system and doing treatments on hospitalized patients.  They are a specialty clinic as well.  I am looking forward to keeping my ER and critical care skills sharp and learning new skills like treating snake bite and paralysis tick patients.  I love that Vet Med has so many options and ways for me to help animals! Brandon and I will be staying busy with work over the holidays.

This past weekend, I went to a theatrical production/haunted house/Edgar Allen Poe inspired show called the Midnight Visit with the girls from work.  It was really entertaining and well done.  They had a tunnel to crawl through and a ball pit.  Very entertaining.  We had Vietnamese for dinner after and it was great to hang out and socialize outside of work.  Work has been so busy, we do not get time to catch up or chat.  There is some really awesome street art around Newtown where the show was.  I love all the color and character it adds to the neighborhood.

Sunday, we drove to our old neighborhood in Cremorne/Mosman for church, then a Lord of the Rings Movie marathon.  They showed all three Extended Editions.  It started at 11 am and went to 11:30 pm.  Such an amazing day!!! They were awesome to see in the theater again!!   A handful of people dressed up for it.  I was surprised there weren’t more.  It is a good thing that Australia theaters are more lax about carry ins than in the US; everyone brought food and drinks to be able to last the day.  Some even had pillows and blankets.  It was a great sense of spirit as fans of the movies.  Tomorrow is book club in the evening and this weekend is December already.  Time to buy a tree for our place and send out the Christmas cards.  🙂  It is still so odd for it it be warm and getting warmer as Advent and Christmas approaches.  Have a great time preparing for the holiday season and speak to you soon!!
