Hello all and happy March!! March here is Australia mean Autumn. We just started having cooler weather in the last week or so and a lot of rain the past few days. This helped us wash all the dust off our car from our Jervis Bay trip. See below for more details.

We began celebrating my Birthday already on Friday night with friends. We reserved a few tables at a pub in Newtown and we enjoyed their Beer Garden after work. I meant to get up Saturday morning and do the parkrun, but was too tired and slept in. Brandon did it, though his ankle has been playing up. Then we packed up and headed back down the coast to Jervis Bay. We rented an Airbnb right across the street from the beach this time.

We had a chill night of church and dinner and an evening coast stroll. The next day we drove to the other side of the Bay to do some hiking/coast walks in the Reserve on that side. It is a functioning military exercises place during the week, so we were sure to stick to the marked paths. The gravel road tested our Mazda 2, Myrtle’s tires and suspension quite a bit and she got quite the coating of dust. We caught a late lunch in town, then went to one of the many beaches for a swim. We walked back to our Airbnb along Nelson’s beach and there were so many dogs!! It was so fun to watch them chasing sticks and balls into the surf.

On my birthday, we went down to the closest beach for a morning snorkel. I was able to do it for a bit and saw a ray, but the water was a too cold at 9am. We packed up out stuff and did the White Sands Walk and the Squiggly Gum walk, before catching lunch in town. We headed north to Jamberoo and did some more hiking through the rainforesty hills to a waterfall. We then headed back to Sydney to prep for work on Tuesday.

It was a really nice weekend of Birthday celebrations!! I was so happy with everything and we had lovely weather for our trip. Thank you to everyone that came out with us, wished me well on Facebook, and that send me cards and presents!! I so appreciate all of you!! I had a great Birthday because of all of your kindness!! Thank you for thinking of me!!

Included below is Mardi Gras from the first weekend of March, my Birthday night, our Jervis Bay Birthday trip, then Bowling and karaoke that we did last night, plus a few odds and ends pictures.
