Still in London, Saturday- had an English Breakfast at hotel of toast, sausage, beans, a tomato and coffee. Took a cab to the Wormwood Scrubs parkrun. Lackadaisical ride with a talkative driver. Drove through Notting Hill and past Portabella drive. Got to the parkrun like 7 min late and just took off. I ran to catch up to the tail walker. Pretty flat course but grass and hard mud. Two laps with flags to tell directions. View of the Shad, wormwood scrub prison, and hospital. Nerina talked to the tailwalker- funny, quirky lady. Planned to catch a cab but way too far out. Caught a bus and thankfully it was the right bus, back to our hotel. Very time sensitive- breakfast, parkrun, check out. Got extended check out til 11. Rushed to shower and check out. Nerina had some repacking issues and the cleaning lady was not very understanding. Off on the tube to Kensington Palace. Walked through the park to the Palace. People out enjoying the sun on the Saturday morning. Did a tour of the palace- Exhibit on Queen Victoria as she was born and raised there. Ate sandwich lunch at their cafe. Little chill in the park, then took the tube back to our hotel to get our bags. Then took a cab back across town to our new hotel. Another protest made for an alternate route. Really nice driver. Talked a lot on our 45 min trek. Went to a different Ibis hotel and they had no clue about our tour. Got to our correct one and checked in with Luke, out temporary tour guide for the night. Our guide was meant to be Helen, but now is Aaron who is just finishing up a tour today. Checked in to our hotel- no more twin rooms so each of us got our own double room. Had a chill- caught up on our internet things, then met the tour group to get on the bus. Went though the Black Heath tunnel/East India Trading Company tunnel to Greenwich. Went to the Royal observatory where there was an amazing view of the London skyline and the Greenwich mean time line which is hour 0 and divides the W and E hemispheres. Walked down the hill to Greenwich for an English pub “The Spanish Galleon”. Had fish and chips and non mushed peas. Saw the Curry Sark- had a 10yr record of the fastest journey from Britian to Australia. Then went to the Thames Clipper for a fast ride further east to the Emerites air flier- gondolas that went across the Thames. Got up to 295 feet. In the 8 seater gondola. Stopped at an Express grocery store for snacks for the trip. Walked back to the hotel and called it a day.
