This week has been busy with Birthday celebrations and party prep. Monday night dinner and movie at The Soda Factory was a bust. We couldn’t reserve a place so the only seats to watch the movie from were too far away. We ended up leaving and eating at the Westfield food court at Grill’d burger, then had dessert at Max Brenner. Max Brenner is a chocolate shop that has delicious hot chocolate, desserts, and all things white, milk, and dark chocolate. Heidi’s Birthday was Thursday and she had a fun afternoon with Jax, then had some friends over for pizza and cake. We watched MTV and it was a fun and relaxing night. Saturday I had to work. It was a calm work day and the last with Dr. Matthew for a month while he is on leave in Europe. Heidi wasn’t feeling well all day, so Brandon and Jax were in charge of set up for Jax and Heidi’s birthday party in the evening. They moved a bunch of the furniture around and had a marquee/tent in the garden. There were balloons, signs, candles, and it was an awesome set up. I helped when I got home and thankfully people were not punctual, because we were scrambling and not dressed at 6 when people were suppose to arrive. Brandon was ready and greeted guests. All of Jax and Heidi’s friends were really great. Jax had prepared awesome food and drinks and we even had a bar tender and waitress. It was a fun night and Heidi even came down for a few hours. Their cake was awesome and we are still enjoying it. Sunday was a recovery day for our house and cleaning up. We had to make sure all the balloons and ribbon was gone before we released Caprica from our room. Monday was a public holiday for the Queen’s Birthday so we were all off work. Brandon and I went out for brunch, Heidi went to see her family, and Jax did stuff for her business. Brandon and I also got our closet ready for the arrival of our boxes either this week or next. This week will be a bit quieter, but Jax’s birthday is Saturday so I am sure more will be planned as it gets closer. This is also the last week for Vivid so hopefully the weather will be nice and we can go again and see Darling Harbor. Enjoy our fun party pictures. I didn’t have my phone, so they are from all the guests who were there.
Hello Amy & Brandon,
Wow, what a great party!! It’s too bad that Heidi was not feeling well enough to enjoy it; but, it looks like the rest of you were doing a good job of celebrating. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both Jax and Heidi! Loved the pictures and good pics of Caprica, too.
Do think we could enjoy Max Brenner’s chocolate place–very tasty I’m sure. Still think the “Vivid Festival” is beautiful with all the colored lights and displays. Sydney is quite creative in their ongoing events.
We had the new carpeting installed last week Tues. and Thurs.–looks very nice. It’s a lot of work because the whole room has to be clear of everything. We packed and moved small stuff and the carpet installers moved the furniture around from room to room and put it back in place, thank goodness. Big job as it included living room/dining area, sunroom, bedroom, loft and stairway. On Friday, we had Janice & Dale here for an overnight (Russ’s sister and partner) who live at Lake Holcomb in the summer and Arizona in the winter. They had been in Milwaukee for an event and from here were going to the Freedom area to see Dale’s daughter and family. We ate out Friday evening and they insisted on taking us to breakfast Sat. morning even though I thought we should cook at home. Anyway, the week was a busy one!
Not sure as yet what we will do for Father’s Day. I need to call Lori today to see if they have plans to go to Eagle River or will be at home. Have fun unpacking your boxes when they arrive. Will to good to have your “stuff.”
Love, Grandma & Grandpa Kohl xoxoxoxo
Great to hear from you Grandma and Grandpa. It is difficult to remember Father’s day is this weekend in the States, since it is in October here. We will have to remember to connect with all out Father figures this weekend. 🙂 Glad you got your carpeting in and your house back together. Can’t wait to see it when we are there in August. Hope you have a great weekend and be sure to tell Grandpa Happy Father’s day from us. ~Amy
