Hello all and Happy Father’s Day!! Father’s Day is in October here in Australia, but we are celebrating our amazing Dads and Grandpas today anyways.  Thank you for all you do for us and your love and support!

I finished Brandon’s hat.  I think it turned out nice, he claims it is his inside hat and will wear it at home.  Oh well, I tried.  Next up slippers for him, but we need to go yarn shopping first so he can pick out what he wants.  I will have to hurry and get them done before winter is over.  It was been nicer weather-wise this week.  Only a little rainy, but warmer than previously.  It is hanging out in the 60s during the day and 50s at night, unlike the previous weeks where it was getting down to the high 30s and 40s at night.

This weekend was another busier one.  Thursday night it wasn’t raining so Brandon and I met in Darling Harbor to check out the last weekend of Vivid.  They had a cool water and light show in that part of the harbor that happened every half an hour.  We ate sushi and a kebab at the food court, then walked to the bus, then home.  Friday night Jax had a few friends over for pizza and game night.  We played Scattergories and it was really fun.  Most of them had never played before, so it was amusing.  There was also some cheating going on, but all in good fun.  Saturday, Heidi, Brandon, and I took Jax for her Birthday surprise to High Tea at the Boronia House in the next town over, Mosman.  Even though she was guessing, I don’t think she suspected where exactly we were heading.  They had little sandwiches, soup, quiche, dessert, tea, scones with jam and cream, and cocktails/champagne.  It was delicious and, even though the portions were little, it was still very filling.  We came back home and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon until Heidi’s friend and Aunt came over for her homemade curry supper.  It was yummy and she had a not so spicy one for me. 🙂  We spend the night comparing music and listening to all sorts of songs.  Sunday was a catch up day for cleaning, meal planning, grocery shopping, and preparing for our boxes to arrive.  They are coming tomorrow at 8:30a.  Thankfully, Brandon will work from home so he can be here.  We have our closet and storage area upstairs ready to go.  I am super excited for our shipment.  I forgot what I packed so every box will be like opening a present.  I hope everything made it ok and nothing is damaged.  I am excited for my shoes, rain boots, clothes, and sewing kit the most.  Brandon is pumped about his computer, sweatshirts, and scope.

We are working on planning our trip back to Wisconsin.  We are trying to make time to see everyone and do everything we want.  Please let us know if you want to see us so we can plan something!

  1. Hi Amy & Brandon,
Love the hat and it looks like a nice warm one for the cooler weather! Grandpa and I went to a place on Sunday after church called The Waters Supper Club and Lounge, located at New London on the Wolf River–something special for Father’s Day since the pontoon ride w/dinner planned by friends was canceled because of weather, just too windy. The Waters was very nice with great scenery on the river. We had a roast chicken dinner and must say it was very delicious; in fact, have enough to warm up for supper this evening. Lori, Jeff, and I gave Grandpa a rack for all his hats which hangs 30 of them–good place to display some of the hats he has in various places around here.
The High Tea at the Baronia House looked like a delightful time and a lovely place!!
By this time, you have most likely received your boxes and are having a “ball” unpacking all of it.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and have a wonderful day on Thursday, the 22nd!
Love, Grandma & Grandpa Kohl xoxoxoxo
