Hello all and welcome to this week’s update on Brandon and I. I had a busy week at work. We were interviewing for another vet nurse and I am slowly taking on this and other Senior Vet Nurse duties. This is exciting to me to help the clinic run smoother and a bit intimidating. I am sure it will all be fine. I will be working closely with our practice manager and directors. We are instituting some policy and procedure changes, so lots new and different at work. Brandon had been working from home all week, which the cats were happy about. He has also been 3D printing, though thankfully not early in the morning. Evenings have been calm and uneventful, watching a few movies, but this weekend we made it out and about.
Saturday, Brandon, Heidi, and I went out for lunch to a cafe down the road. In the evening, we went with Heidi’s family and friends on a Harbour sunset cruise for her cousin’s birthday. They had fun hats, good food, a bar, and fun music. It was a bit chilly out on the decks. We went further down the Harbour, inland, then out by the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Thankfully, the sun was out for most of it and it was warmer than they had expected. On the boat, there was an inside, enclosed area with chairs, a rooftop deck for dancing, and the front to enjoy the views from. Drinks were pricey and had a limited selections, but it was still fun and we had a good time. A water taxi even brought us more ice! After, we joined some of the family that went to the Star casino in Darling Harbour. It was so busy, elegant, and expensive. The Star has two clubs in it that charged a cover. The outfits that those going to the clubs had on were very interesting to see. Nothing like that in WI, especially in the cold! None of us were into gambling besides the moms, so we hung out in the sports bar and had a drink. We also wandered around and took all the different machines and tables in. I had only been in the Oneida Casino before, this this was a big change from that. We got a cab back home later on.
Sunday, after church, Brandon and I headed to Balmoral Beach in Mosman for the Hunter Valley Uncorked festival. They had tents and tents of wineries from the Hunter Valley to try and also some food tents. Nothing appealed to us, so we are lunch down the beach on the water at the Boat House instead. I think I am getting more used to the smaller portions here, because now, when I eat a big meal, I am full for hours. We took the bus back home and I read and took a nap. I was not hungry for supper, we watched a movie instead.
Now it is Monday and I am off. Brandon is here working from home. It is a lovely day and we are going to go out to Cremorne Point and enjoy it. Have a happy week everyone!!
You have a great week also. We spent yesterday, going to church, doing some shopping. We then watched the Paackers pull off a win at the last second. Love Grandma Miller
