This week has been a bit cooler, cloudy, and drizzly; so different from what spring has been thus far.  Monday I was off and it was hot and gorgeous.  Brandon and I walked around Cremorne Point and I stayed and read a bit.  There was a Bush Turkey that wandered over with fishing line tangled around its leg.  It was limping and needed help, but Brandon would not assist me in my Turkey wrangling, so it walked away.  Sadness.  I hope it is ok.  On my way back from the Point, there was a rainbow as it started to sprinkle.

Work was busy again this week, but fun on Friday because it was Vet Nurse’s Day in Australia.  Our directors got us cards and a gift card, and cakes, and it was very nicely celebrated.  This week is Veterinary Technician week in the US so happy week to all my Vet Tech and Vet Assistant friends!!!  Thank you for all you do!!  Brandon got me a diffuser in honor of the occasion which is pictured below.  🙂  Now I can diffuse my oils again!!

Thursday, Heidi met me out by my work for a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant in Balmain.  It was delicious.  Friday night, Brandon and I watched the movie Easy A.  Saturday I had to work.  Brandon met me in the city and we hung out at the Queen Victoria Building, my favorite building in Sydney.  There are so many levels, and cool shops to see and explore.  So pretty with all the stained glass.  We ate supper at the food court and then came home for a movie night; Titanic was on TV.

Sunday, after church, Jax had some friends over for lunch and games.  We were suppose to go out to a beach for a picnic/BBQ but it was windy and overcast.  Everyone brought stuff for lunch and we had fun playing the British/Aussie quiz game Buzz on the Playstation.  Now we are all so full and ready for an early bed time.  The cats were adorable this week, much more exciting than us.

This weekend, my parents had their annual pumpkin carving event at their house.  They have a big garden and grow their own pumpkins.  We were sad to miss it, but got to see the pictures on Facebook.  We debated carving something here in honor of Halloween, but there was only one sad pumpkin at the store and we would have nothing to safely carve it with.  Halloween is just not a big thing here and not celebrated.  Maybe because it is spring, not fall/harvest time.  No cornstalks, straw bales, or fall colors.  It is strange to think it is October without all those things.  I am so looking forward to a warm November through March. 🙂

What else is new…I am still working on knitting my scarves.  I started rereading Harry Potter on my commute.  I start training our new Vet Nurse at work this week.  Brandon has been busy with his work stuff.  He created a demo mode for their device to show potential investors that went over really well.  I hope the weather will be nicer this week, but we did need the rain.  Enjoy the pictures and talk to you soon!

  1. Really enjoy your writings and pictures. Saw you in your cute sun hat and sleeveless top and remembered it was just 38 when we left the cottage this morning. Cold and windy all weekend up there. The beet, dock and boat lift are all put away for the winter. Not looking forward to winter.
