Hi all! I have survived my first week back in Oz.  Work was busy and there is a bit to catch up on at home, but, overall, I have settled back in.  I purposely stayed up later in the US to make the transition easier for my sleep pattern.  It really helped to adjust back to the time difference.  This week Brandon and I went for a bunch of walks around Neutral Bay/Cremorne and also hung out on the new patio furniture Jax got.  It has been so warm and sunny out!! Monday, we were both off so we went to Ikea to pick out our apartment furniture for our new apartment.  We are happy with our choices and excited to see it all in whatever place we get.

I worked Saturday, so Brandon went to see two apartments.  Heidi was able to come too, which was great to get her opinion and advice with this whole process.  The first place was a cottage-like duplex that I was in love with visually.  It was a no go; being old, having water damage, and smelling like dog.  The other one was nice.  Spacious, filled with light, though a bit more expensive.  We did apply for it, pending me being able to look at it.  We will see how it all goes.  I am not going to get emotionally attached to a place and end up rejected like last time.  I am not getting invested in anything till the paperwork goes through.  We did some exploring around Balmain this weekend to familiarize ourselves more with the area.  It is so nice!! Water all around, cute cafes, parks; I am excited to be potentially moving there.  (We may end up in Glebe or another neighborhood based on cost)

My flatmates are getting into the festive spirit.  Jax is doing Elf on the shelf for us and her and Heidi are organizing a Christmas Luau this weekend.  I have seen trees up in houses and two apartments up the street have lights up.  It is beginning to look like Christmas; despite the warm weather and everything being green and blooming here.  So crazy to be officially summer and it is December.  Still having trouble wrapping my head around it.  Well we are off to watch The Matrix and enjoy the rest of our weekend.  Have a great week everyone and enjoy the pictures!
